War Wounded Foundation is a charitable trust set up for long term rehabilitation of war disabled soldiers of Indian Armed Forces.  The Foundation undertakes variety of activities for accomplishment of its objectives. The focus of activities undertaken by the Foundation is identification, motivation and rehabilitation by persuading the disabled soldiers to take self employment and join the mainstream of the society, besides financing for their skills training and disabled friendly toilets etc.  The activities undertaken by the Foundation include meets/rallies of the disabled soldiers at district/state level, workshops, outreach programs, counselling sessions and organize participation of disabled soldiers in events such as Mumbai/Delhi Marathons for their awareness,  visibility and motivation.

There is no government funding of War Wounded Foundation.  The Foundation therefore, relies solely upon the donations received from philanthropic organizations corporate house and individuals.

The Foundation contemplates to create a sufficiently large corpus so as to be able to finance the activities of the Foundation from interest earned from this corpus.

Donations to War Wounded Foundation are exempt from income tax vide No.DIT (E) 2009-10/716/Del-WE20091-21062009 dt 17/6/2009 and DIT (E) No. 80G/2012-13/W-156/501 dt 31/5/2012 with life time validity.

All donations to War Wounded Foundation are gratefully acknowledged and receipt sent to the donors along with a copy of letter relating to  income tax exemption under section 80G of Income Tax Act 1961, from the Director of Income Tax.
