Joint Seminar of War Wounded Foundation and United Services Institute of India (USI) held at USI on 19 April 2022

The seminar was held to address “Challenges, Concerns, and Aspirations of War Disabled Personnel of Indian Armed Forces” besides connecting and honoring them as also seeking their participation/views on the issues impacting lives of present and future war disabled soldiers. 120 disabled soldiers from different states attended besides many retired/serving senior army officers and a number of media personnel.  General VP Malik, PVSM, AVSM, Former Chief of Army Staff was the Chief Guest.

  8. Naik Ganpati Jotiba Kharade: Naik Kharade suffered the amputation of fingers of the left hand in J&K.
  9. Anand Kumar- Ex Nk Anand Kumar of 19 Grenadiers Wounded due to splinter injury in across LC firing in Pallanwala OP Rakshak(J&K) on 30 March 2000.
  10. EX NK Sarabjit Singh- Sarabjit Singh sustained Gunshoot wounded in the right shoulder and fractured scapula spine.
  11. Arun Kumar- The individual Injured in Operation Meghdoot 03 April 1990.
  12. Hav Ex Surender Kumar The Individual sustained Gun Shot Wound ( Rt Hand Ring Finger and Rt Hand Palm) on 22 Dec 2004 due to terrorist fire in OP RAKSHAK ( J& K).
  13. Ex Nk Jitander Singh of 9 JAK RIF sustained Splinter Injury on (LT) SHOULDER due to enemy fire at his own past Bahadur ( MY-0477) during OP Rakshak) J&K. March 2003.
  14. Hony Sub Maj Jagmail Singh Sustained severe mine blast injuries in a mind blast in (Sri Lanka) and amputation left leg below the knee.
  15. Ex Nk Gurmel Singh Sustained severe injuries in a mine blast in (Sri Lanka) resulting in the loss of left hand.
  16. HMT Balbir Singh Gadhwal The individual sustained Transtibial Initial Amputation(RT) on 26 Dec 2009 while moving a fork lifter onto the workshop floor at Nimmu in Leh in Operation Rakshak (J&K).
  17. Sub Umesh Kumar sustained severe in a mine blast and amputation below the knee, during OP Rakshak (2003).
  18. Ex H N Sub Jasmal of 2 RajRif 3 Rd Frost Bite both hand and feet (optd) cold at Nimbu Leh on 08/08/2001.
