The War Wounded Foundation is a registered charitable organization, which has been set up for the long-term rehabilitation of war-disabled personnel of the defence forces. The concept we have evolved for the rehabilitation of the war wounded personnel is to take jobs to them, instead of finding jobs for them in cities, away from their homes. We do this by persuading corporate houses to give these personnel retail agencies / outlets for their products, so that they are able to function from their homes. This helps both parties. Our disabled personnel become ‘soldier-entrepreneurs’ in their own homes and get a steady income in terms of commissions, with minimum overheads. The corporate houses are also benefited, as they get an opening into the vast rural market, with disciplined, honest and dedicated soldiers as their agents. The corporate houses are also able to meet their societal obligations, in the best possible manner, and on a long-term basis, for a cause that could not be better.
We have now identified the need to create a sufficiently large Corpus that would generate enough interest, with which we would be able to fund our activities
Our aim is to create a corpus of Rupees Five Crores in the next three years with a target of Rupees One Crore in the year 2014-15.
